This is all "fictitious" except for the flowers that I found at our local nursery.  I decided to place them in a happy background by some other flowers, water and mountains.  I heard of a man who did a challenge of 24 paintings in 24 hours--I cannot imagine.  That meant he had to paint all through the night at a different location each time!  Any of you painters up for that???

ICELAND POPPY

This painting was done from a photo of someone else's Iceland poppies.  I've always admired them, but have had no luck growing them.  Best to just borrow someone else's!

DAISY LOVE-SOLD

I've been challenging myself to get a painting done every day that I am at my show, Art A Fair in Laguna Beach, CA.  I teach on Tuesdays and take Monday and Wednesday off, so I give myself a break on those days.  Sometimes on my teaching day I complete a demo and then will have a painting to post here.  The above was my painting yesterday.  It is 6 x 6 and the subject is a little pot of daisies that I picked up at Trader Joe's on my way to the show.  I love my booth this year.  I am right up front where the entertainers are.  It can be more than noisy (loud music), but is great fun.  Most of the time I can manage to carry on a conversation over the music, but I know there will be times when that will be impossible.  Come visit me, I'm in Booth A-28.

Wanna Color?

The little carved dog has been in my collection, along with the Panda, for a long time. So, it was fun to pair them up and imagine they are having a "play time". Probably dogs and pandas don't normally get along, but in a painting anything is possible.

Iris Trio

I frequently do reproductions of my originals in a smaller format and mat them with an archival white matboard. I then paint the mat (as I've done above) and sell the 16 x 20 size for $65.00. In this case I decided to do a large original on YUPO and paint the mat so the total size is 24 x 30.
