Pelican Watch
I saw this view of the birds while I was painting at Corona del Mar, CA. The pelicans seemed very proprietary, like this was their rock!! I think pelicans are such amazing birds. A few years ago they had all but disappeared in this location, but they are back and I'm so glad.

Fall Color Anew
I previously posted this and then realized I didn't like it. After some changes so that it better reflects the feeling of late afternoon, I am happier with it. Do any of you painters ever have that problem? Somehow when I see it on my blog or on my site on Fine Art America, I suddenly see all my mistakes. Hopefully I will eventually get so I can see my problems before I've gone to the effort of posting them. Anyway, this was a painting done in the late afternoon at Irvine Park. The water looked like a ribbon--so amazing! It's been so cold here (for us) that we've gotten more fall color than usual.

Fall Color
Another painting from recent times at Irvine Park. It is so beautiful there and all the water in the riverbed is a real treat. I painted this while on the path that goes around the park right near the bridge.

Boy Koi Delight
I was painting at Sherman Gardens Library and Gardens in Corona del Mar. They have a wonderful koi pond and this lucky fellow is part of their koi collection.
